A few things you might be wondering.
The rules, the reset, and what happens to your score. Clear answers before your next climb.
What is Noillirk?
Noillirk is a word-association game idea where familiar, common answers earn more points. Noillirk Top is our independent practice edition: seven prompts, six ranked answers per prompt, and 20 seconds per round.
Is Noillirk Top the official game?
No. This is an independent fan project with original questions, artwork, and code. It is not affiliated with the creators of the original Noillirk or Krillion. You can find a link to the original game on our About page.
How do I earn points?
A matched answer earns points according to its position on that prompt's board: 100, 64, 32, 16, 8, or 4. Each point adds 10 metres to your climb. Seven first-place answers produce the maximum score of 700 points and 7,000 metres.
Are the answer rankings based on a real survey?
No. Our boards use fixed editorial rankings of plausible, familiar answers. They make scoring consistent, but they are not population statistics or live voting results. A perfectly reasonable answer may be missing or ranked differently from what you expect.
What happens if my answer is not recognized?
An unrecognized guess does not end the round. You can try a different answer while time remains. The first recognized answer locks in its score. If time runs out before a match, that round earns zero points and the board is revealed.
Do spelling, capitals, and punctuation matter?
Capitalization and common punctuation differences are normalized, and many answers have accepted aliases. Try the shortest standard name for your answer. We do not promise to recognize every typo, translation, brand name, or valid synonym.
When does the daily game reset?
A new daily set becomes available at midnight UTC. Everyone using the same version of Noillirk Top receives the same daily set for that UTC date. Your local calendar date may differ near the reset time.
Can I play more than once a day?
Yes. Unlimited practice gives you another seven-question run whenever you want. You can play across the whole bank or focus on a category. Practice rounds can repeat because the question bank is finite.
How do I play the same questions as a friend?
Use a challenge link. The link carries a seed and category so both players receive the same ordered set in the same site version. This is an asynchronous challenge: each person plays on their own device, then compares shared results.
Does sharing a result reveal the answers?
The result text contains your score and a row of symbols showing how the rounds went, without question text or answers. Review your board privately, then copy the spoiler-free result to the chat or app of your choice.
Do I need an account, and where are my scores stored?
You do not need an account. Game results are saved in this browser's local storage when it is available. They are not synced across devices or sent to a global leaderboard. Clearing site data or using a different browser can remove or separate your history.
Why is a good answer missing from the board?
Each prompt has only six scored answers, so the board cannot contain every reasonable response. The goal is to predict this edition's familiar answers, not to prove that other answers are wrong. Use the revealed board to understand the prompt and try a new approach next round.
